Who we are

The Pittsburgh Concert Chorale (PCC) is the city and region's premiere large all-volunteer choir. Under Music Director Dr. Susan Medley's leadership, the choir strives to sing a variety of genres at the highest level of artistic excellence, supports the musical education of high school singers through its annual Festival of Choirs at Oakland's Carnegie Music Hall, and is involved in the community through appearances at venues such as the Fort Pitt Fourth of July ceremony. Singers include professional musicians, people who sang in their high school or university choirs and want to continue singing, church choir members, and those who may read music as instrumentalists but have never sung in a choir.

What we do

The PCC presents a concert season with three series of concerts: the Holiday concerts, the Classics concerts, and the Pops concerts. Holiday concerts include audience favorites and sing-alongs to favorite carols and hymns. The Classics concerts generally feature a major work with orchestra. Recent performances include audience-favorite Orff's Carmina Burana, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Brahms' German Requiem, Mozart's Requiem and Haydn's Mass in Time of War.

The Pops concerts feature music ranging from standards like Cole Porter's "Night and Day" to Abba's "Dancing Queen" and "Shut Up and Dance with Me" by Walk the Moon. Whatever the style of music, the PCC displays great musical versatility in its performances.

Our International Tours

The PCC Touring Choir took its 2022 European tour to Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic in the summer. Tour cities included Vienna, Munich, Prague, Leipzig and Salzburg. The choir sang in historic sites where the great composers themselves, such as Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Dvorak, and Bruckner lived, composed, and performed.

The PCC's 2018 European tour was based in Italy, where it sang in cities including Rome, Florence, Ravenna, and Venice. The trip culminated by singing in the Sunday morning mass at St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice.
