Having just completed its 25th anniversary, the Pittsburgh Concert Chorale looks forward to the 2010-2011 season with the theme "Celebrating the Creative Spirit!" The ninety auditioned voices, under the leadership of highly-acclaimed director, Katherine Mueller, look forward to presenting a subscription series that begins with "The Spirit of Christmas" on December 3-4-5, 2010. David Billings, organist, will be joined by percussion instruments for this traditional concert. The classical work March 5-6, 2011 will feature "The Creation", considered by many to be Haydn's masterpiece. The oratorio depicts and celebrates the creation of the world as described in the biblical book of Genesis and in Paradise Lost. Always a favorite, the pops concerts in May will follow the season's theme with "Words and Music: Broadway's Creative Duos" like Rodgers and Hammerstein, who created a string of popular musicals in the 1940s and 1950s. It's sure to be a year filled with rich and enjoyable choral music in both the Franklin Park and Fox Chapel areas of Pittsburgh. Don't miss it!
Experienced singers, ages 16 and older, can schedule an audition by calling the director, Katherine Mueller, at 412-841-9614.
