A Note from Susan

My dear singers,

Wow!  Wow!!  And again I say – WOW!!!  What a wonderful weekend of concerts we had!  You were truly spectacular, as I’m sure you could tell by the reaction of all three of our audiences.  You sang with energy, with commitment, and with passion.  Even in the face of unbearable heat, you were true professionals.  We have had a terrific year.  You have grown tremendously both technically and musically, and I couldn’t be more proud of you!

Many, many thanks to everyone who made this weekend a success.  A special thank you to the stage crew for the “riser schlepping” you did at St. Paul’s sanctuary/sauna.

A quick note about auditions – Tuesday we will be in the SANCTUARY at Ingomar.  Wednesday we will be in the music office downstairs.  For those of you who did not sing the Pops Concert, just bring something to sing for me.  (No stress – it can be the National Anthem, Amazing Grace, etc. – just something to give me a chance to hear your voice.)

Again, congratulations on three terrific Pops concerts!  I feel very blessed to be a part of the PCC family.

PCC After Concert Notes

This are ticket stubs collected at the door and not ticket sales which are higher because some folks purchase tickets, then find out a the last minute that they cannot attend.

Found
At Fox Chapel - one bracelet in the women's purse lockup room.  The bracelet is residing for a brief time at Nancy and Don's.  If the bracelet is yours, please send us an e-mail or call us.

Audition
Auditions will be May 8 and 9.  If you are not available those dates, the "makeup" date will be in August.  As Susan announced, we are to vocalize to show our range, do a little sight-reading and sing "Somewhere" page 4 "Time together with...." through the end of page 5.  Men will turn the page to show that they can too hit/find either the B-flat or E-flat or F as your part calls for.  If you haven't signed up for an audition time, see Bruce Cooper's May 4 e-mail for his notes concerning signing up and the web site access to the signup sheet.  Auditions will be at Ingomar Church either in the choir room downstairs (where we store our valuables during concerts) or in the fellowship hall downstairs or

Save the Date
September 29, 2012 PCC Family Picnic on Saturday at Point shelter – new date, new location.  This shelter has electricity, a playground adjacent to but not on top of the shelter, restrooms (not Mr. Johns/portal-potties) adjacent to but not on top of the play area and a water fountain.

November 4, 2012 (Sunday) PCC Festival of Choirs at Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland at 4:00

March 16 or 9, 2013 (tentative) PCC trip to NYC to perform our "Music of the "Three Bus"" classical concert

April 2013, very, very tentative - participate in the chorus of "3000".

July 17, 2013 Perform at the national convention in Pittsburgh of the Fellowship of United Methodist in Music and Worship Arts.  This is a paid concert venue for the PCC and not participation in worship service(s).  For information about the Fellowship please see their website: www.umfellowship.org
